Honestly, I'm a sucker for a winery with a good view. Whenever a friend is visiting from out of town, I like to take them to at least one winery that is known for its beauty. Charlottesville has plenty of beautiful spots to take in the scenery!
My favorites include: King Family Vineyards, Pippin Hill Farm and Vineyards, and Stone Mountain. Read below for descriptions of each. Honorable mentions include Afton Mountain Vineyards, Mount Ida Farm and Knights Gambit Vineyard.

King Family Vineyards
What is not to love about a vineyard with an expansive property of the polo fields, vineyards, stables, and mountains. You can wander around the property and enjoy different equally beautiful views depending on where you sit (there are so many options). This was the first winery I visited when I went to one of their Sunday polo matches. It was not until the third or fourth time I visited, that I truly appreciated the beauty here. This is definitely a place you go back to time and time again, and I have definitely done just that!
Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards
It is probably not a shock that Pippin Hill made the list here. It truly is a breathtaking view at this vineyard no matter the time of year. Tons of weddings happen here, and for good reason. The landscaping is beautiful and changes with the seasons. If you can visit in August/beginning of September, the hydrangeas are in bloom. They line the walkway up to the tasting room and it is just amazing.
Stone Mountain
Stone Mountain is definitely a hidden gem of the Charlottesville area. Quite the trek to get there, but oh so worth it. Make sure you are driving a 4WD car up there as it is a dirt road going up the mountain. When you get to the top, you can immediately can see the amazing view over the beautiful tasting room. There is a porch wrapping around the tasting room to overlook the mountains providing you with the perfect place to sip some wine and forget about the terrifying drive up. I wish this was closer to where I live or I would become a regular here, not to mention their wine is delicious!
